What was the highlight of Sol Cayo Guillermo Hotel
All-inclusive but nothing available. Run-down property with no sense of customer service.
+ Beautiful beach (however true for all resorts on that stretch) + Near diving and Kite center
- No customer service mindset. No one would move out of his way to help you (examples: 1- No one picking up the phone at reception although 3 people at reception chatting when we personally come and ask for help, 2- When reporting an issue in the room (hot water pipe blew out) no one at reception move. Just call someone else to go. 3- Special mention of Luis at the reception and Anita at the bar who were the 2 worst hotel employees i encountered in my life. 4- Large parts of hotel still to be renovated after hurricane even though neighbor resorts fully refurbished. This enhances the run-down feeling. And by the way, the hot water pipe in our room was not repaired when we left, 3 days after the problem occurred and after we asked 4 times hence don't expect hot water if you get room 609) - All inclusive but nothing available (examples: 1- No proper food outside meal hours. Only ham sandwich available which is not great if you are vegetarian or prefer something else. 2- Very restrictive meal hours; Breakfast until 10am in a beach resort, Lunch from 1pm to 3pm, Dinner after 6.30pm. 3- No hot tea at the bar except mint. 4- No proper cocktail. Only chemical sirups. Not even fresh mint available for Mojito in a country where every single bar even in the street have it. 4- Worst quality food you can imagine. Bad meat, few non-fresh fruits, non fresh juices, poor bred. 5- Pay extra for the redbull. 6- Pay for sport activities (sailing, kayak, etc.). 7- No room service. 8- no drinkable water in the tap but only allowed one bottle per day per room. Big drama when asking for 1 more bottle and has to escalate until the F&B manager)

Cuban paradise at Cayo Guillermo
This locations of this resort is exceptional. The Caribbean is a beautiful, pure aquamarine. The pool is a great size and very clean. There were a lot of couples and a lot of families. It is an all inclusive resort. In addition to the buffet style they have two restaurants with menus. You are allowed to make reservations one time at each. The staff was kind. The Hop on Hop off bus is a great way to see the area. Pink flamingoes were about 10 minutes away. Paddle boats were fun.
The free bikes were in disrepair and the free snorkeling gear a bit old.

Very disappointed by our stay. I don't recommend going there.
- Very good location by a beautiful beach. - Reasonably small hotel, which means not too many people.
- Food is terrible. Even if access to quality products is complicated in Cuba, it is not an excuse for cooking the limited accessible products so poorly. - The staff offers a very poor customer experience. You don't feel that you actually paid to be there. They are not efficient and have no empathy. We are in Cuba, where Mojitos are the #1 drinks, but bars don't have mint 50% of the time. If someone takes by mistake the towel that you left by the pool, they will charge you 20 USD/towel. - Acoustic of the common rooms is awful. - The kids infrastructure are very limited. We had to keep our kids with us for almost the whole stay. - It was very windy during our stay, which means that we couldn't take advantage of the beach. It is apparently very common to have that much wind in winter. But that is not the hotel's fault.

Hotel Sol Cayo Guillermo - This place is amazing I been once all ready to sol Cayo Guillermo and I'm coming again with my partner and parents In October if U ever want to experience paradise then this is he place to be the staff are very polite good English and willing to go the extra mile good food nice rum and just amazing u need to be there to experience it I would recommend this place to anybody family's or just the two of you so happy to be returning
